Granite Countertop - Separate Sink Cutout Charge?
Hi everyone!
I went to a granite store yesterday and was impressed with the prices.
But while the price per square foot was good, they want to charge an extra $250 for the sink cutout for an undermount sink. (And that doesn't include the sink itself, which would be another $200.)
Is this normal?
Thank you!!

Re: Granite Countertop - Separate Sink Cutout Charge?
I was never charged for the cutout. It was all a flat fee. if i were you, I'd question them on that. If they stick to the $250 cutout fee, I would make sure to tell them to GIVE you that cutout or to make a butcher's block out of it for you. if you're paying for the granite and for them to cut it, then why not be able to keep and make use out of it.

This unfortunately is normal. Everytime a cut is made via sink, drop in cooktop, etc, a charge is made. Like the AP said ask to keep the slab.
