Re: Grilled cheese...

I usually use a baby food like squash or carrots to make the bread less dry. Then I put it in the toaster oven. My girls don't
eat milk either.

I am just curious what kind of cheese do you use.

Re: Grilled cheese...

Frying pan.

It's not at all silly. Every time I go to a deli to get one, it's something totally different.

Re: Grilled cheese...

I make it in the frying pan with margarine, however with trying to be more healthy when we have it on a regular basis, it is in the toaster.

Also, DD only eats 1/2 a sandwich which is much easier to make in the toaster Chat Icon

I actually use the george forman grill. I butter both sides and put 1 1/2 slices of cheese and close the machine.

DH likes it made with mayo better, he even puts pickles in it!

I do this too - it's healthier. Of course, in the frying pan with butter definitely tastes better though.

Actually I recently read that the best way to make a grilled cheese is with mayo instead of butter. I tried it and it is pretty good. I do it in a pan too.

this is what I do

I've also been known to spray it with the Misto (olive oil)

This is the only way I make it...I think it tastes so much better and it's easier to spread the mayo than the butter.

DH loves my grilled cheeseChat Icon I spread butter or mayo (I was shocked how good the mayo is) on 2 slices of bread, american cheese (fresh sliced from the deli usually), then sprinkle garlic powder on it while I grill it in a frying pan, so yummy!

Frying pan, and this is how I do it...

Butter one side and put that face down in the frying pan (or skillet works great too). Then put the cheese on that, and then the second piece of bread butter side up on the top. Brown one side and then flip until even.

This is how I do it too.

It has to be made in the frying pan with a little butter.

My Dh says I make the Best Grilled Cheese Sandwich!
Not sure if thats a compliament or not ......two pieces of bread and a slice of kraft american cheese and a touch of butter......doesn't sound so hard to make.

Re: Grilled cheese...

I do grilled cheese in frying pan with butter.

I do "cheese in a bubble" in the toaster oven using only bread and cheese. I toast the bread first and then toast it in the toaster oven until the cheese melts and forms some bubbles.
