gripe water/gas ex
does anyone put either gripe water or gas ex directly into the bottle to give during a feed? i am giving breastmilk. I have heard of people doing it with gas ex, but not with gripe water........
also, if i give DD a bottle of breastmilk and she doesn't finish it, how long can i wait to have her finish the bottle? should i re-refridgerate it and warm it up again, or leave it out?

my dr always said give separate. we loved gripe water! worked miracles! have him some before and after bottle; half dose each time. every feeding..... as for breastmilk i dont know. i bottle fed. but with bottles, you could leave bottle pout for like an hour before dumping.

hmmmm.................i'm going to try half before, and half after. and you can do it with every feeding? it's not like you can overdose on ginger and fennel right?

I have put both in her bottles.
She wont' take ANYTHING by mouth- she spits it out.
So all meds etc have to go in her bottle.
Never had an issue.
Now whether or not they do a darn thing is another story....

Now whether or not they do a darn thing is another story....
even antibiotics and stuff you've put in there? this is her new thing, she is spitting up everything i give her. now granted, she's having an issue with reflux right now, so maybe that's why. i figured at least if i put it in her bottle, she's bound to get most of the dose! thankS!

We gave DD gripe water by itself. She loved it and would suck on the dropper.

We give DS gripe water and it works wonders! My ped said to give all meds straight in case they don't finish bottle. I like Bliss Gripe water b/c it doesn't need to be refridgerated.

i had the little tummys one also. ds always took it by mouth; gripe water, antibiotics, tylenol; anything because they taste good when theyre made for kids...

Well so far she hasn't been on antibiotics (knock wood!) but yes, motrin after shots I put in her bottle, gripe water (although she used to like the gripe water- but now all of a sudden not so much) and gas drops also go right in the bottle.
I feel she gets more of it down this way.
The other way she just screams, cries and spits it out.

They are all the same if you look at the active ingrediant. Even the target brand is the same.

i give DS a dose of mylacon (sp?) in 1oz of breast milk in those little containers that you can screw a nipple on the top of from medela... its a little more work, but this way i know he got the drops
i used to do it at the end of his regular bottle, but there were times where he didnt finish all of it & decided to just do it the other way

They are all the same if you look at the active ingrediant. Even the target brand is the same.
target makes gripe water too?? nice!
