Group B Strep
For those who tested positive, was a c-section suggested?

Re: Group B Strep
I haven't been tested yet, but I was told that if I tested positive I would just be given antibiotics through IV.

I was just tested last night so I don't know the results yet, but I was told the same thing about IV antibiotics...

No, c-section was not suggested.
I was just given anti-biodics when I went into labor.

I didn't test positive with my 1st pg...but they said if I did it didn't mean I would need a c-section it just meant that as soon as my water broke I would have to go the hospital to get IV antibiotics.

I tested positive when they did the test at my 1st OB appt. They tested me again at 36 wks and it was negative.
You dont need a c-section if you have it. It's really no big deal...it comes and goes and most women dont realize it. They give you IV antibiotics during labor.

this was exactly what happened to me. I was told if I was still positive at 36w, I would just get antibotics through IV when I went into labor
