group pracitces giving different advice..how do u know which to follow?

DD has been throwing up all morning. One dr said dont give any liquids for 2hrs then only feed her if she asks for food. she suggested white grape juice too.


the other dr 3 hrs later said every 15 minutes give her 1/2 tablespoon of water...

aggghh wouldnt u think they would all be on the same page on telling patients information??

hard to say... BUT one thing if she throwing up i dont know if id give her "JUICE" too much sugars to throw up. i was always told pedialyte or gatorade i tablespoon at a time

see thats what I hate...all pedi's differ, group or no group.

I usually take the different opinions into consideraton but go w/my gut on most things

did you ask the 2nd doctor why they were saying the opposite of the first and who you should listen to? I'd call back and ask them just that....say listen dr so and so and dr blah blah blah are giving me conflicting info WHAT DO I DO?????

That was one of the reasons I left my old practice. I had different doctors with totally different philosophies!
