Re: Growing Old

I just look at the old ladies out there and think to myself
OH JEEEZ what am i going to look like at THAT age
I do the same thing!
I say to DH "at what point will I start DRESSING in that old lady style look .. with the elastic waistbands , the "mom haircut" .. will I evr chop off all my hair" He just does this and says NO you will never look like that .. but maybe THEY never thought they'd look like that either!
I simply cannot IMAGINE I will ever look like THAT I hope I sort of retain some sense of stylish-ness
As it is, I'm 35 now and I cannot chop off my hair .. and my DEAR MOTHER tells me that I am TOO OLD for long HAIR

Re: Growing Old
a little of both.. I still look young- actually I get more compliments on how I look now then when I was in my 20's. people can't beleive when I say I will be 32.. so I guess that's good.
I do physically feel the changes. I get tired a little quicker- no more 4am nights out at the bar.. I do that now when I bartend and need Red Bull to get me through the night! I also found some thigns to be heading towards the south..
I loved my 20's but I was a much different person then- more insecure, naive.... I feel I have learned so much about myself in the past two years that I feel different mentally.

Re: Growing Old
I'm turning 30 in October. I think I'm aging pretty well. I look young for my age, and I love getting proofed.

Re: Growing Old
I'm not minding it too much....I was a different person as a teen. I grew up alot, figured out who I was in my early 20's and ended up not looking like I did when I was younger...I was on the chunky side.

Re: Growing Old
Little bit of both!! I love the freedom of being older. I love being more responsible and all. What I absolutely hate....THE GRAY HAIRS!!! I hate having to dye my hair every two months!!!

Puhleeze I'm older than ALL you young'uns on this post!! No pity partying allowed here!
I honestly do NOT feel my age at all ... I often have to remind myself that I am 35 since I still feel like a kid at heart...
BUT my body definitely tells me otherwise .. i dont have the same metabolism, hair, skin, etc.. I feel like the maladies are creeping up on me .. THAT part of aging kinda blows
And the other part of being this age I hate is that I feel like I should be SO MUCH more accomplsihed at this point in my life .. truly that is the ONLY thing that upsets me the most, that I am 35 and still dont have kids, the house, a bit more stability
BUT let me just end this vent by saying that overall, my 30s have been FANTASTIC compared to my 20s ... so for those of you who haven't hit the big 3-0 yet, let me assure you the best is yet to come
Couldn't have said it better myself.
I'll be 36 in August, and sometimes I feel like I'm always 3 steps behind everyone else. Got my Master's degree about 12 years ago, so profession-wise, I'm where I want to be.
The whole gravity, metabolism thing kind of stinks, my knees hurt on damp, rainy days, etc, but other than that, I think I'm ok.
Still waiting for the kids, house thing......
