Growth sono at 32+ weeks reveals big baby - have to redo my 3hr gtt!!!
Apparently my worry about only gaining 14 lbs right now doesn't mean much....Baby today at 32+ sono was weighing in at 5.8 lbs already!!! I asked my dr if maybe she is ready to come out now.   He answered "Nice try".  And it's official, I am getting a scheduled csec due to varying medical reasons.
Dr said baby will surely be around 9lbs. Everything looked great!! But on a bad note, I have to redo my 3hr diabetes test just for precautionary measures due to baby's size..... I just can't believe how big baby got since the level 2, when she was only less than a lb. And yes, it was confirmed, she is all girl. I better start ordering my furniture.

I had my growth sono today too, I was told baby was just about 5lbs. I am a lil over 33 weeks.
I am worried he is too big already.
The tech said, he should be about a 7 1/2 to 8lb baby.
You gained only 14 lbs....your all baby.
Sorry to hear you have to go for the 3 hr. again....Congrats on your confirmation on your lil  !!

Wow you are going through what I just have been going through! At 32w exactly,  was measuring just over 6lbs. At 36w, he was up to 8lb 5 oz. They made me retake the 3hr yesterday (at almost 37w) and all came back fine! I am definitely on track to have a 9.5 or 10lb baby!

Wow, glad your 3hr came back normal. So you had a repeat sono at 36W? I forgot to ask the dr if I will have another one and when.

Yes, after the one at 32w she wanted to check on his rate of growth to 36w to see if he had just had a major growth spurt and would even out or if he was continuing to pack on the pounds so I had another sono. Sure enough...he was even bigger!!!
I'm sure your 3hr will come back normal too - mine wasn't even borderline or close to being an issue so just a big baby I guess. She said it's likely my second will be even bigger.
eta: I have barely gained any weight either (12 lbs at 37w) - isn't it weird? The day I had the 32w sono I had lost 5lbs from 2 weeks before and was in a bit of a panic that he wasn't getting enough. Guess not!!!!

They said the same thing to me, could have just been a major growth spurt. I agree this is possible, I haven't gained much but the last 2 weeks I did gain 2-3 lbs so it was probably the growth spurt. I guess time will tell.
I really hate having to take this 3 hr again. I wa so glad it was over. But I will be a good patient and just suck it up for my baby.
I know what you mean, I was panicking this week b/c one day the scale showed I lost a lb. Guess the baby was getting plenty all along.

Big babies are great!!! 
My guy was born at 38 weeks and was 11 1/2 pounds! I was tested for GD every week.  I know how annoying it can get. Good luck!!
If you end up with a lot of amniotic fluid, you can FM me. I have a lot to say about that!

Thank you! There was no mention of it when I had my growth sono. I will surely take you up on that if needed. How did they test you every week btw? You mean blood test and drink every week????
I know I did really well on the 3 hr gtt, but that was week 26 so I just hope that wasn't too early. I have been eating a lot of crap and sugar of all things....I really hope it's not GD. What are the odds it could be now after coming up negative at week 26?

So I have heard, the more solid the better. Did you have GD? I don't recall. Did they suspect you did?

That's amazing you only gained that much weight so far. I am also carrying a big baby. At 33 weeks and a few days he was measuring 6.5 lbs give or take. I do have GD though so we expected to hear he was big and I can just feel how big he is. I'm carrying 2 weeks ahead of schedule my dr said.
I'm sorry you have to re-do the 3 hour test, hopefully you don't have GD, but if you do it's not a big deal at all and very manageable, plus you are at the end now. They just want to double check that your sugars are in line. At 34 weeks I had to be put on a low dose medication to control my sugar over night while I'm sleeping since when I test my levels it's always higher when I wake up. I feel a lot better now that we caught it and my numbers have been so much better taking something for it.

I don't know what the odds are, but I know they typically do it for big babies. Yep, I drank so much of that damn sugar crap that I thought I would never sleep.
The people at the lab knew me by name and I was really getting angry by week 37. In that week they sent me for a different type of GD test, but I can't fully remember what it was called. I was so fed up by that point that I went in there drinking a slurpee. The tech just shook her head and said 'Kelly, you know your results will be really high now.' That time they came back borderline.
