Guess what DH got from his job for Thanksgiving?
LAID OFF 
Yep...he only started this job a few months ago, and they laid him off today because they said they couldn't afford to keep two people doing the same position. When he got hired...he was told he was replacing the other person.
I'm so upset right now....don't know what we're gonna do

UGh! I'm so sorry! Laying people off at the holidays is right up there with laying off pregnant women, in my opinion. Everything happens for a reason, something better is out there for him!

What kind of work does he do? Not that it matters, but maybe someone knows of an opening somewhere so you don't have to worry throughout the holidays.

Of course they can't - some businesses are so heartless. My old company was - they laid me off a week before my wedding. And had the nerve to say to me, now you have time to relax before your wedding.
