Gummi crib rail protector

Does anyone have this. The lady at BRU said that you just have to be careful because sometimes when the kids bite it, the adhesive leaks out the bottom...I dont like the sound of that.

Re: Gummi crib rail protector

I have it - I never saw the adhesive leak out, but she did manage to get it off (with her mouth!!)

We bought another one and put it on differently and it worked better. Instead of putting it on with gummi half on the outside of the rail and half on the inside we did it so just the top of the rail and the inside of the was covered. She has not been able to chew through that at allChat Icon

Does that make sense?

I think so...so you don't put it on the front part that you see, right?

Re: Gummi crib rail protector

I bought one from One Step Ahead and I LOVE it...it's VERY secure and easy to put on.

Right it starts at the top of rail and covers the whole side that faces the baby.

It's perfect now.

I have it and Marron has never had a problem with it. I can't even see what the lady at BRU was talking about -- it isn't filled with gel or any kind of fluid that would leak out.

It's not supposed to. The instructions say you can use a hair dryer to heat up the glue when you want to remove the protector and it should come off without a problem. When I was putting it on, it didn't seem like the glue is going to damage the finish on the crib at all, even if I don't heat it up to remove it.

I did this and it still ruined the finish on Sarah's crib. Chat Icon

I took mine off 1 side of my crib and it didn't do damage to it at allChat Icon

Just use the hairdryer to heat it up and it comes right off.

I never had any glue or anything drip of come out, no clue what that lady at BRU was talking aboutChat Icon

The gummi crib rail is the only thing that fit on my convertible crib.

ETA: The glue reminds me of a little bit stronger post it note glue.

I was thinking the same thing...it just has two strips of adhesive tape. We put it on Lucas' crib this weekend...half on the inside and half on top so that it basically covers the edge facing him.

I am going to try this. I have gone through 2 of them because DD licks it and the adhesive isn't stick anymore!

I used them and my DD pulled them off. I was nervous she was going to chew on them during the night, so I pulled them all off.

I asked about this a while back - I haven't gotten it yet b.c after talking with some moms they said it took some of the finish off. I might have to get it anyway b.c DD loves to gum the rails as she cruises around and although she doesn't have teeth yet they will eventually be coming in and I have to get something - nothing else will fit my convertible crib.

I have a antiqued white crib so it's painted white and it did take the finish off a little bit. But then again, I didn't use a hairdryer to remove it.

Re: Gummi crib rail protector

Honestly I waited and my DD's teeth ruined the rail much more than a little adhesive would have. My crib looks like a woodchuck attacked it.

BUT with dryer it didn't take anything more off my crib.
