Had a bad mommy day
I am having a bad mommy day and just need to get it out.
This morning DH, Sabrina and I were all relaxing in the living room watching some TV and enjoying Saturday morning together. Then Sabrina decided she didn't want to sit anymore and started to run around the living room and dining room. She has recently begun a climbing stint and I have been able to get most things safe, but there is always something that can't be secured....LIKE A DINING ROOM CHAIR!!! No sooner did I see her shaking the chair did I say NO and she walked away from it and then walked right back and pulled the back of the chair in an attempt to climb and the dining room chair--the one that holds her Space Saver High Chair--fell on top of her. She screamed and I ran as fast as I could to lift the chair off of her and put ice on her face. She was hysterical for almost an hour.
I feel so horrible as even though I know toddlers do these types of things, I can't help but say I know I shouldn't have just told her NO, I should have gone over and removed her from the situation....
But there are four chairs and I can't block all of them. Like I can't be everywhere and prevent any accident, no matter how hard I try.
I just feel horrible and I can't shake the image of my poor baby with the chair on top of her. I am thankful it was only a chair and not something heavier like a dresser (which we have secured).

Awww, Poor Baby!
Welcome to my World.
Noahs been climbign on the tables and chairs since 13 months old.
He has fallen forward on the chair, WITH the chair a few times now...and HAs chairs on top of him a lot unfortunatly.
I cannot even go get a roll of Paper towels without him zooming for the chairs.
Its a hard thing to teach them to stay off of when you turn your back

Hindsight is always 20/20. When something happens, I always say to myself, I know I should have just done such and such. Try not to beat yourself up
