Had an interview this morning. Do I send a "thank you"
Can I send it via email? I really want the position but don't want to look desperate.
TIA

Re: Had an interview this morning. Do I send a "thank you"
You sure could and should...it looks good...a little thank you e-mail for being given an opportunity to interview with the company.
ETA: If its a big corporation, email it.

I disagree. I work in HR as a recruiting manager. Email is acceptable- but send within 24 hours. Believe me, I have seen a "thank you" land the person the job.
Edited to add: it is not desperate. This is not a date. They want to hire somebody who wants to work there. Interest in the job is good and it shows you have good follow up skills.

I usually send out a follow-up/thank you e-mail a few hours after the interview.

100% agree.
ETA: It is most likely that they've interviewed more than one person, so sending it today and kind of reminding them who you are is a great idea.

Re: Had an interview this morning. Do I send a "thank you"
I always e-mail the same day. And being in HR, I like it when I receive a thank you the same day or even the next AM.

Re: Had an interview this morning. Do I send a "thank you"
I have done both (email and hand writen them) - depending on the company / corporate culture.
I was also told once that you should put something in the thank you note to sort of "remind" the interviewer who you are. For example, if you discussed the fact that you both worked on the NYSE, say something in your THank you like "I really enjoyed learning about your experiences at NYSE and how you benefitted from that experience when you joined Company X."
Hope that helps!!!!!!

Re: Had an interview this morning. Do I send a "thank you"
Yes, a same-day, e-mailed thank you note is perfectly appropriate, and appreciated. Take the opportunity to make another "sales pitch" for yourself -- reiterate how your assets as a candidate are a good match with the company's needs.
Good luck!
