Hair appointments-how far in advance?
How far in advance do you make hair appointments?
I know my mom makes them before she leaves, but she goes every 5 weeks.
I always think of it like 2 days before I want to go & feel strange calling so late, so I never get my hair cut or I go to a cheesy walk in place.
I was just wondering what a normal time frame is?

I usually make an appt. like 2 weeks in advance.

i usually try to call at least 1 week before, but i have called 1-3 days before also.
it doesn't hurt to call and see if they are available!

same here. I just get a simple cut, not color or highlights or anything. In fact, I'll probably call this weekend to get an appt. on Tuesday afternoon.

i try to do it a few days in advance, but there's never anything available. i usually have to wait longer than i want.

I'm glad to see I am not the only one!That's what I need- just cutting-no processes.
I am trying a new place though, so I don't know if they will laugh at my naivete. 
Thanks for your responses.
I will try & call today. I prefer this Saturday but can do next Friday. Next Friday is probably enough time.

Usually 2-3 days in advance of when I want to get a cut. Maybe once I had to wait a week to get an appointment.
I wouldn't worry about calling on short notice - they want someone in the chair.

a couple of days before and sometimes even the day of if she has it open. I got every 6 wks for color. I always get in within a few days but I work from home so I can go whenever.
Her only waits are weekends really.

I'm starting to learn my lesson. I used to try and do it a few days before, but my girl is always booked or taking a vacation. I have to do it at least 2 weeks in advance now.

I make them at each appt before I leave. Usually for every 5 weeks or so. I have tried making them 2 weeks in advance and she's always booked and I get screwed so now I plan ahead.
I just went today and made my next appt for 5/20.

Depends.. usually a few days before.. sometimes I call that day to see if there's anything available.. and it's a nice salon, not a walk-in

Me too. Every few months or so, I just wake up one morning and think, "I hate my hair. I should change it." And I'll call and make an appointment for that afternoon, if I can. Usually not a problem if my time of day is flexible.
