Hair Loss After Pregnancy and Exercise

Happy New Year Everyone -

My daughter is over a year and I have experienced so much hair loss and continue to loss hair everyday. My hair has thinned out dramatically - its just doesn't have the curl, wave and thickness it used to have.

I miss it Chat Icon Will it ever come back? I am taking vitamins and continue to drink water - is there anything that I can do to promote more hair growth??!! Any tricks or secrets that mommies know about?

Also - I have another 10 - 15 lbs that I can't seem to shake off - how do you mommies do it? How do you find time to exercise with the kids? Do you have any exercises that you do with the kdis at home?

TIA

I'm 3.5 months PP and my hair is fallen out so much whenI have it ina ponytail it looks so thin . I take a multi vitamin I"m not sure what else to do!

I really don't have time to excercise, so I've been watching what I eat. In the AM I have instant oatmeal, for lunch I 'll have a small sandwich, and a regular dinner. aslo sometimes when I am holding baby I do squats. Once I get back to work I will go to the gym during lunch time.

Re: Hair Loss After Pregnancy and Exercise

I had more hair loss after my 2nd pregnancy, and I had 2 bald spots on the front sides of my head as well, my hair grew back and is much thicker now then it was (I always had thick hair though). I heard it can take 6 months to a year for your hair to get back to normal, maybe even longer who knows, but I know its normal.Chat Icon

I have a treadmill in my living room so when the kids are playing or watching there shows, I go on for like a 1/2 hour every other day, it helps!

Re: Hair Loss After Pregnancy and Exercise

not to scare you...did you ever get a blood test for a thyroid problem? after i had DD my hair never stopped falling out, it was falling out in clumps and also looked so flat with no body or volume.so i went to the dr for a physical. i was experiencing migraines. turns out i have an underactive thyroid which also is a reason my hair was falling out...DD was 15 m at the time i found out but the dr said it could have happend at anytime after pregnancy and i could have had the thyroid problem even right after having her who knows. its very commom to develope a thyroid problem after pregnancy, which i didnt know. everyone is different though, im sure your hormones are still adjusting back to normal after having DC
