half in-ground swimming pool installation
can someone please give me an idea on how much it cost just for the installation? I'm looking to get a 4' pool and have it half in ground. I think the pool itself is around $1-2K? TIA!

Re: half in-ground swimming pool installation
I don't know the answer but I can tell you that the LOWEST price we got to level and install our fully above ground pool was 450 (plus tax). The leveling was seperate at about 30 per foot based on our pool size. A semi inground you figure at least 12 inches of 'leveling' plus excavation equipment and install. I'd say you are looking at about $1000.
Whatever you do - do NOT use Island Rec. They are the absolute worst. Do not make my mistake of ignoring the horror stories for the savings thinking 'it will never happen to me..'.

Re: half in-ground swimming pool installation
We got a few estimates for a semi inground pool just a few weeks ago. They were for an oval(15x32) and the price for the pool with installation ranged between $7,000 and 10,000. Depending on the type of pool. A steel pool is cheaper and doesn't last as long and an extruded aluminum pool is better quality and will last a lot longer.

Re: half in-ground swimming pool installation
we were looking into doing a semi inground and you just have to remember, you can't put just any pool in the ground. It won't last. It has to be made to go semi in ground. The prices we were getting for an oval were comparable to the poster above.

Re: half in-ground swimming pool installation
We have it 2' in the ground and 2' out. It was a safety issue for me so the kids just can't fall in. We have a small yard and I didn't want to look at a 4' pool wall. For all the stone & paver work we use English & Country Gardens 25403 W End Drive Great Neck, NY 11020 516-829-2421
Ask for Michael tell him Dee & Phil gave you his information. They do amazing work and very clean.

Exactly this. They told us to NEVER bury an above ground pool. The walls are not made for that. You need a pool that was manufacutred to be a SEMI- INGROND. The walls are stronger to withstand the pressure of being buried. We used Modern Comfort - they are excellent. They used to be in Coram, but might have moved to Medford (?)

Modern Comfort is still in Coram, they are on 112 now, next to the 7-11 (near the coram diner).

This was the pool and the the install(the hole). No deck, no pavers, no fence nada!
ETA: We were told that they put stainless steel pools in the ground all the time but it is not ideal and will not last all that long. An extruded aluminum pool is made to be put in the ground but it is considerably more. For the size we were looking at it was a $3,000 difference
