Re: Halloween candy on the stoop
i did this last year and people were very respectful about taking only one or two because there was actually some left when i got home. i didn't put a sign on it though. unfortunately this year i did not do it and now i have a ton of candy left over for me to eat

Re: Halloween candy on the stoop
Where I currently live, I would not do this. We have over 180 kids come each year, and we have too many teens/older kids who come around early. We even have some come to us 2 and 3 times in person, knowing well they had been here. I can imagine what they would take if I wasn't standing here.
I want all the kids to get candy, not just a lucky few. Some of my neighbors did this and said "Whoever gets gets". But to me, I rather give it out to be sure it's fair for everyone since we get so many kids (over 200 last night). I just would hate to run out and some kids get none.
