do you really hand wash them or do you just throw them in the washer?

Re: "Hand wash only" clothes

If I only have one item I will wash it with woolite. However, I just had to wash all of my bathing suits so I threw them in the washer and put it on the shortest delicate cycle labled "slow" and with the coldest water setting and they came out okay but I wouldn't do it often.

Re: "Hand wash only" clothes

Usually I wash "hand wash only" clothes on the delicate cycle. I've never had a problem doing this.

I throw my tights in the washer, so I may not be the best person to ask Chat Icon (and yeah, I toss them in w/o a lingerie bag along with all of my other stuff Chat Icon )

I generally avoid hand washables and dry clean only, unless it's for a special occassion.

Them too, lol... but it is rare that I have to because I usually throw out my suits after just one season. I'm a bathing suit wh0re - more than any other kind of clothing, I'm always buying new! But, overall, I can't be bothered with anything I'm not sure of how to properly care for... especially my clothes and bathing suits - I spend good money on them and I'm terrified of ruining something I love! woolight and on delicates in the machine. BUT I try to hand wash but our sink is shallow so I would have to use our kitchen sink and I won't risk doing that again since DH thinks it soaking dishes and put stuff in it IoI

Re: "Hand wash only" clothes

Once upon a time, when I was single and lived in an apartment, no children, I handwashed. But not any more.

I probably would if it was cashmere or something really good, but my clothing is not so fancy these days.

Re: "Hand wash only" clothes

I try to "follow the rules" the first few times but if I've had it for awhile and it wasn't that expensive it gets thrown in the wash, and yes I've even thrown in dry clean only stuff in the wash! I do tend to avoid buying hand wash and dry clean only items.

Re: "Hand wash only" clothes

I throw them in the machine on delicate. I don't have the time (or the patience really) to actually hand-wash items.

Depends on how delicate it is. The rest of my 'hand wash' items go in the washer. My washer has a "hand wash" setting on it.
