Hanukah project
What is the best Hanukah project your Dc has done in school? Im going in to my DS 1st grade class on Thursday to do a Hanukah project and I'm just trying to figure out what to do. Initially I was going to draw a menorah on construction paper. Then have the kids cut yarn strips and glue it onto the menorah outline. And then use marshmellows as the candles. But then my friend showed me this awesome pasta meorah the kids made at her school. It used a lasagna sheet at the base and the kids glued everything on, using ziti as the candle holders and bowties and other shapes to decorate. I'm open to other suggestions.

Re: Hanukah project
Can you make a clay menorah? I always liked those. Alternatively if you take a pretzel stick, marshmallow and a chocolate you can make an edible dreidle. You could also have the kids make dreidles out of polemer clay and bring in some chocolate coins to play the game. Another idea is to use the kids hands to make a paint menorah with their thumbs joined together for the shamash. Then use their finger tips to paint flames.

I like the hand prints...4 fingers on each hand for the candles and then a thumb for the shamas/helper candle.
