Has anyone been to any of the following steakhouses?
Abel Conklin's in Huntington
The Clubhouse Steakhouse in Huntingtion
Mac's in Huntington
Vintage Prime Steakhouse in St. James
Brooks and Porters in Merrick

Abel Conklin's in Huntington - Grew up there. My parents were a part of the restaurant from the day they opened when I was 7. Both worked there as did my sister and I for years. We still regularly go there and Love it.
The Clubhouse Steakhouse in Huntington - Haven't been in a long long time. I hear its good.
Mac's in Huntington - Went once and liked it as well.

Mac's - went there for DH's birthday. There were 9 of us.  but oh so  I love steak....I love mac n cheese...I love wine....I love Mac's

My DH loves steak, but honestly i have not been to any of the ones you listed
I do frequent Morton's in great neck
And Ruth Chris in Garden City
Both excellent!!!!

Abel Conklin's in Huntington - Many times. I don't think it's nearly as good as it used to be and therefore, slightly over priced.
The Clubhouse Steakhouse in Huntingtion - I actually prefer this steakhouse over any others I have been to (except Delmonico's). It is more fairly priced for the quality.
Mac's in Huntington - Never been
Vintage Prime Steakhouse in St. James - Never been but heard it's excellent.
Brooks and Porters in Merrick- Never been

Been to Mac's a few times....food always Very good. I actually do love this place.
Brooke's & Porters.....went a few weeks ago...DH had steak and it was good. I had seafood....wasn't so great. Who gets seafood at a steakhouse? Me! LOL
Others you listed........never been.

Abel Conklin's - Love their food!!!! When we're looking for steak, that's where we go. I've never had it, but my DH raves about their steak tartare.
The Clubhouse - I've always enjoyed their food and the intimate atmosphere. I haven't been there in 2 yrs, so I don't know if the chef and/or food has changed at all. But in the past, I've always had outstanding meals. Abel Conklin's wins each time b/c it's closer to us.

Used to love Abel Conklin's - their bernaise sauce was delicious... now it's too mayo-y. Service has gone downhill too.
My new fave is Mac's - steak is fantastic, sides are great, service is great.
Haven't tried the others yet.
