Has anyone been to the Please Touch Museum in Philadelphia?

Would it be a waste to take a 7m old there?

DH and I will be in Philly this weekend. It's supposed to rain so I thought we'd take DS to the Please Touch Museum.

It is a very cute museum - my 2 year old loved it and my 7 mo old was really just there for the photo op!! HAHA! There is a lot of hands-on stuff for toddlers and up! But def worth the visit at some point! It is actually quite HUGE with lots of people - Just an FYI!

Was your 7m old able to enjoy any of the hands on exhibit?

I see pictures of kids sitting and touching stuff.

I hope DS doesn't get sick from the museum. It must be a germ fest!

I'm in the philly area - LOVE LOVE LOVE the place - I go there for playdates with Alex at least one a month! I don't know how much a 7 month will be able to do there though... the part that Alex seems to love the most is the water play area, and the supermarket area - there's also a musical instrument section - all are hands on, but most of the kids who are playing there are running, walking and standing

i grew up near there and went all the time. it's a lot of fun, but IMO a 7 month old wouldn't get anything out of it.

They closed the old one and opened a new one - HUGE and absolutely fantastic. But I agree, I don't know if a 7 month old would be able to really engage.

Can you recommend other events (indoor or outdoor) going on this weekend that would be a bit more baby friendly?

I would prefer to take DS with us but if the weather is awful, I may just leave him home with my mom.

Trust me, the new one is 100 times better! I work in the Wannamaker buiding! Love the light show but it gets a little tedious hearing/seeing it day in and day out during the holidays while I'm trying to work Chat Icon

I FMd you, but also, you might want to check out the Phillyfunguide - it probably lists a bunch of halloween stuff going on in and around the city Chat Icon
