Has anyone done this yet? The Polar Express on the North Fork
Has anyone done this yet? We are thinking about buying tickets for Saturday, Dec 14 for Aaron's 3rd Birthday. In my opinion, the tickets are expensive, seeing if it is worth it.

I'm torn on it too because of the price, but I did see a great review about it on this post

I'm going Sunday. I will let you know how it goes. I have a 19 month old and a 3 year old. The tickets are expensive, but after going back and fourth I decided to give it a try.

Just making you aware, they said no children under 2. My niece is a month away from 2, and they made an exception. I would give them a call just to make sure you won't get turned away.

Thanks for the heads up. I did give them a call and they said it was okay. Hope we don't have a problem when we get there. But she is a BIG girl and looks 2!

Where does it say that?

It doesn't say it (and I agree in that it should say that!). My sister had asked if under a certain age was free, and then was informed of the above. She was told since there are no carseats, or booster seats allowed on the bench seats, due to there being no seatbelts, and they travel on the roads, that it's not suitable for kids under 2. I mean obviously an almost 2 year old can sit independently, so I don't know why that would even be an issue, but just relaying what we were told.

We went last night and it was great! My kids really enjoyed it. My son has special needs and is older, but the Santa made a really great effort to engage him. It was nice! We all received Polar Express branded bells, and the kids received a really nice Polar Express hot chocolate mug. My niece is almost 2 and she LOVED that they take your ticket and punch them, she was all smiles! We made our own tickets with heavy cardstock, which we brought home and hung on the tree through the punched hole with the bell. They do give everyone a ticket though (small paper one).
We went bowling at the All Star after, and it was really nice! It's like 300, but nicer IMO.

I called and asked too. I think an almost 2 year old is of course able to sit independently, but will they the whole time. My DS rode a trolley a lot this summer, but ended up on my lap most of the time, so we decided to wait till next year.

My niece sat on the bench and was fine.

That stinks! I just assumed under 2 was free. DS is only 1 so we didn't get him a ticket. We were supposed to go this Saturday. I guess I have to call to see if it's ok or if I can drive him out seperate .
