Let me give an example:
Let's say sales is one of the things you are completely uncomfortable doing. Turns out you take on a job that is sales-based. You even told the hiring manager that sales are your weakness and they felt it wasn't a sales job, even though sales has come up many times in your training.
Did you overcome it? Is sales one of those things you can just learn? How?

I've been there. I actually got really good at it. So good though that it made the work environment terrible because I was the one bringing everyone extra work because of all the business I brought in. They weren't compensated so I was the evil one.
I also saw lots of shady things that went against my background and training. I left the job.

I had a job where we had to help out the Sales force during designated times and I hated it.....it was a major reason why I left my previous position. I think it really depends on your personality on whether you can deal with it or not.
