I have. At estee lauder spa in the americana mall. Even though I thought it was good, I would rather have a deep tissue traditional massage. I enjoy the deep tissue massage better as a whole and feel like I got more soar muscles and "kinks" worked out then when I had the hot lava rock massage.

As a massage therapist, I can tell you that the hot stone massage is nice, but if you like deep tissue or sports massage, it's probably not the massage for you.
The stones are warm (hopefully not burning hot!), they rub them on your body, some are placed on certain areas on the body, a lot of oil is used- so you're pretty lubed up after you leave (I always tried to get most of the oil off after I was finished giving the massage ).
Let's just say it's more of a superficial massage... it's relaxing I guess (if the right person is giving it), but not my cup of tea.
JMHO.

JMHO.
As a massage therapist myself, I agree. It's relaxing but it depends what you are looking for! Therapeutically speaking, it not better than a regular massage. The stones just warm up some parts of your body.
Plenty of spa offer it.

We got a couples hot stone massage on our HM. I loved it. I laughed when they stuck the stones between my toes though and my jaba the hut masseuse went for a reach around. But other than that it was great.

i have. it was good, but i don't think it's worth the extra money vs. a regular swedish massage. i went to healing oasis in long beach.

I had it while on a cruise and it was the best massage I have ever gotten, except the massage I get at the chiropractors office, that is a close second, there are electrodes on my back and then this hot blanket thing- that is a close second. I tell my chiropractor it is like a day at the spa. LOL. I had it yesterday and think I fell asleep ! LOL
