Has anyone gone to Disney during these dates... updated with hotel question

Feb 16 - Feb 20?

I have always gone end of Aug. Yes it is hot but crowds were not that bad.

I'm afraid during these dates in Feb it's going to be very crowded but these are the dates given (kids are taking a theater workshop class in Disney and going with their class). But I am super psyched to be going again!!!!

So how bad is it really?

ETA: Hotel question on bottom

Yes it's super busy, insanely busy! We went at the end of the break this past February on a last minute trip. 2/23-2/28, which resulted in my daughter missing 3 days of school. But, the Friday/Sat were super busy crowd levels. We went on Saturday to the MK, and knocked a lot out in the morning, but it started getting insane so we hopped to another park! You make the best of it! We did 2 full pool days at the resort (we stayed at the Yacht Cllub, which has an amazing pool area), and our weather was gorgeous

I went to Disney in early February and it was cold. Maybe 50. The good part was waiting on the lines was easy because with a hoodie on, the weather was perfect and the crowds were manageable.

For 2019, mid-winter recess for our school is the following week. If that holds true across the country, it shouldn't be too bad.

The 16-20th fall over President's Day weekend and on President's Day itself. Even if other schools are off the following week, it's still going to be packed, unfortunately

We've gone then the past 3 years. It's crowded for sure. But it's usually not insanely hot and if you have a good plan you'll be fine. Just realize you can't do everything. Prioritize and enjoy!

We went this past year (2/18-2/22) and it was busy but I didn't think it was super crazy. We went there for our honeymoon, which was in June, and it was a LOT crazier then. But we planned our Fastpasses and dining reservations out and had a blast.

The weather was PERFECT this year. In the mid 80's and not a drop of rain. I would go back during this time again (I have to because I'm a teacher and DS is in school anyway).

If you can only choose between August and Feb... I would probably choose Feb... as crowded as it may be, I think I would rather deal with high crowds when it's cooler vs. moderate crowds and the blazing heat.

we are a family of 5 so now have to see if it's worth to get 2 rooms at a value like All Star Movies or go for like a family suite at All Star Music?

Thoughts?

I would get two rooms since you would have two bathrooms. I don't think the suite has two at Movies or Music.

I think the suites at Art of Animation May have 2 bathrooms. You should check.

ETA: They do have 2 bathrooms in the AoA suites.

ETA #2: Caribbean Beach and POR have 5 person rooms (there’s a small Murphy bed in addition to the 2 queen beds).

Yes we stayed in Art of Animation this past summer. Although we loved it, we don't want to spend that much money this time around. So trying to find the cheapest option while staying on Disney property for a family of 5.

If you’re trying to save money, it would be less expensive to stay in one room at one of the moderates I mentioned (Caribbean Beach or POR) in my other post.

Hmmm this is what I was debating and someone told me in one of those Disney FB groups that it would be cheaper to get 2 rooms in a value. I have to figure it out then.

If you're trying to go on a budget, look into the Cabins at Fort Wilderness. You will also have the benefit of a full kitchen

Yes- they are at the Fort Wilderness camp ground. They are great. Like your own little vacation home, but with daily maid service!

A short boat ride from the campground to Magic Kingdom, bus rides everywhere else.

Oh and the Hoop De Doo is right there! We love the Hoop De Doo.
