Has anyone had a huge increase in their PSEGLI bill?
Nothing has changed in terms of our usage so I'd really like to know how the hell our bill went up $65.

We are not on balanced, they just read the meter and our average is about the same. I would think it has something to do with your balanced bill. Last month they over estimated and the actual came in less so this month, our bill is less.

My supply charge is higher then when it was LIPA. I do monthly readings and noticed a huge increase..

Yes... My balanced billing went up $40. Granted my usage was a little higher bc of all the frigid days but still!

Yes - about $40 - $50 a month. It is outrageous! One more reason to love living on Long Island.

yes I have and I am not on balanced billing I called to ask why my bill is more money and they said because they are using more oil since I guess it so cold out so its costing more to I guess run the plants I said so they will be going back down in the summer then right and she said yes ... I am not holding breath

That's my guess... I'm thinking that everyone on balanced billing is experiencing an increase... I'm not, I have not seen an increase.

Here's the deal. I spoke to the poor lady on the phone and explained that I can't afford the increase, and that I couldn't understand it since we hadn't put out ONE Christmas light and we conserve electric like crazy.
She said she couldn't do much b/c it was the power supply charge, not my useage making the bill high. She didn't even bat an eyelash- not really her fault. She said she would send somone out to check my meter to make sure it's working. I haven't heard back since. That was Feb 4...
I called my congressman, Brian Curran to complain. Apparently, he is being contacted by lots of people whose bills doubled, like mine. He sounded genuinely upset by Cuomo's Failed promises to enforce fairness and regulate the utilities. He is putting something together and asked me to email his office with all of the details and copies of my bills from before they took over to Feb. I am waiting to hear back.

That's my guess... I'm thinking that everyone on balanced billing is experiencing an increase... I'm not, I have not seen an increase.
I am on balance and mine only went up $25/month.

I went on balanced billing in December after being in my house a year. Since then my monthly budget amount has gone up every month for a total increase so far of $100/month since December. It's crazy. Being in my house for a year they should have been able to accurately estimate my charges for a year. But every increase has had a letter that says I am using more electric.
Nothing has changed. If anything we are doing less around the house and turning off the lights more. My bill is almost $300/month.

My power bill went up. I called. The power supply has gone up by about 40% or so. I compared my bills from sept to feb. You can see where the power supply went up and how much extra it was. Its unreal and we have no choice.

ps. What I was told is that because oil went up its causing the power company to have more expense that they pass on.

Oh, so according to PSEG the oil price ironically went up since they took over? As if this is the first time in the last year or so that the oil pricing went up? Sounds like major BS to me!

But I've seen oil prices less this year than last year. Or is my mind just making that up. COD oil is less than my contract this year; last year it was more than my contract. My contract is the same as last years so my rate hasn't changed.
