Has anyone had a low progesterone issue while pg?
Hi ladies
Im usually a poster on TTC and come here hoping the baby dust wears off Recently I went to the Dr to have progesterone levels checked b/c we've been trying for a few cycles and for some reason my Dr said it would be best to start there to see if I ovulated.
When the results came back (after I thought I O'd) the levels were at 6. I spoke to the Dr covering for mine and he said based on that # it looks like I never O'd and should come in for an endometrial biopsy.
Im going to discuss everything with my own Dr on Thurs but in the meantime I've been reading that many women have had pregnancies, not learning that their levels were low until 8 weeks and beyond.
Does anyone have experience with a low level like this? What was your dr's course of action? Did it impact fertility or your ability to carry a pregnancy to term?
Any advice is appreciated! TIA !

low progesterone post ovulation can easily be regulated with progesterone suppositories. if necessary your doctor will prescribe them. without treatment one would expect shorter than average LP and spotting a few days prior to AF.
but progesterone at 6 a few days after ovulation isnt necessarily indicative overall of a post-o progesterone issue. it depends if it continues to go up as your 2ww progresses. i think 4 days post O might be a bit too early to make a full determination.
good luck!
ETA - low progesterone wont effect "carrying a baby to term" as much as it will effect initial ability for the embies to implant and the initial weeks of the pregnancy. once you pass about 10 weeks the placenta takes over progesterone production and you shouldn't really have an issue even if you had low progesterone initially.
