Has anyone had buit-in china cabinets done?
We have a smaller dining room so my hutch isn't going to fit. I have 2 corners where I could have built in curio cabinets done. I was thinking of doing that but 1. I have no idea who you call to do that and 2. I was wondering what a ball park figure would be for something like that. Anyone know? Thanks!

Has anyone had buit-in china cabinets done?
My husband and I were just talking about doing this last week! I was perusing sites for fun looking for our "if we ever hit lotto" home and saw a house that had them. I saved the pic for future reference. I hope you find someone reasonable. It's the last pic if you're still searching for ideas on how you want it.

That's exactly what I am looking to do. I just have no idea who to call to do that. I guess I'll try a cabinet maker first. I then have to see what it's going to cost. My idea of what these things should cost (it's just wood, stain and glass, how much can it be? ) and reality are usually far apart.

I am in nj and called a local cabinet maker to make a small cabinet and he wanted $3,300. I have some other calls out but I think we are going to go in a different direction.

You should check out craigslist. I've found many carpenters there who are looking for work and will offer great prices.

My brother does this all the time for his customers especially out in the hamptons for people. I was just looking through all of his work this past weekend because he is building me a linen closet in my bathroom.
It's costly because of the time that goes into making a custom cabinet but it's also really beautiful. Our linen closet is $560 in materials and labor is free but my brother would have charged a non family home owner about $2,500 Depending/types of wood molding, size you could be talking about $2-6k. Also remember that something that hand made furniture/cabinets last a lifetime it has no pressboard or veneers.

Gothic will make custom cabinets to the style and size you want... although they wont be built in.
