Has anyone had their gallbladder out and was still nursing?
I had a major gallbladder attack yesterda. I have been feeling pain for about a week or so now prior to the attack. My family has a history of gall bladder problems. I am afraid I am going to have to have it out I don't want to be away from them AND I am worried because I am still pumping and I don't want to give that upp anytime soon.

I'm sorry  I've been battling attacks my entire pregnancy, but they won't remove it until I have the baby.
I will be nursing when it is removed, and they told me I would have to pump and dump for 1-2 days. As far as being away from them, I was also told the recovery time in hospital is only 1 day. Then 3 wks no heavy lifting.
Hope you feel better! Stay away from fried, fatty foods!

I have no personal experience, but my girlfriend has had severe gallbladder issues and she postponed her surgery until after she weaned her DD, who will be a year in August, so she's clearly been putting it off for a while. She is under the impression that you can't BF and have that surgery.

One of my friends had hers out 3 weeks after she gave birth and I know she BF her DD. I can find out more info from her if you want. Just let me know.

i can't believe how many people have gallbladder issues after pregnancy. 
I had mine removed (along with a bile duct - my main culprit. My gallbladder was just collateral.  ) 3mos PP.
