Has anyone made cupcakes inside of ice cream cones for their DC
If so, what did you bake them in? Do you have pics of the finished product?
TIA

We used to make them all the time as kids. I remember my Mom use to stand the ice cream cones in the cup cake tray and bake them that way...

Yup. Just pour the batter inside the flat bottom cones, which are standing in the muffin pans and bake as usual. I put some tin foil around the bottom of the cone so they stand better in the muffin pan. Don't fill the cones all the way to the top, I usually stop about halfway up the big part of the cone at the top.

Re: Has anyone made cupcakes inside of ice cream cones for their DC
I made them a few years ago for a work party.
I wrapped the cone with aluminum foil to prevent them from burning. I used regular cupcake pans to stand them up.
Filled them with the batter and let them bake. Pretty sure same temp and maybe a few minutes longer than the box directions.
Enjoy, they are sooo much fun!

How did you transport them to work? I would need to get 20 of them out of my house, into the car and still nicely decorated into the school.

I make them all the time. I have the silicone cupcake cone holders if you need to borrow them. Makes transporting a lot easier.

Re: Has anyone made cupcakes inside of ice cream cones for their DC
my mom got me silicone molds that are in the shape of the flat bottom icecream cones, but you pour cake batter into them..so its a whole cupcake in the shape of one.
i think current catalog or one of those catalogs sell it.
although im intrigued now at making these with real cones...

Re: Has anyone made cupcakes inside of ice cream cones for their DC
I use my spring pan & put all the cones I can fit in it, then there is little chance they can fall over. I fill them right on the stove. Never had a problem

If I remember correctly I was able to stand them all up inside an aluminum pan. I think I made about 24. And if there was any space in between I crumpled aluminum foil in between to help support them standing.
HTH!
ETA - I even piped on the icing with a fat tip so it looked like vanilla or chocolate ice cream.

You can also make Cake Pop cones.
A little more time consuming, but oh so pretty.

Re: Has anyone made cupcakes inside of ice cream cones for their DC
i recently did this for a friend's daughter's bday.
step 1, cover a cupcake tin w/ foil. poke holes in the foil and wiggle the cones into them. makes them stand up straigh
step 2, drop a caramel into the bottom of the cone
step 3, make batter and fill the cones to a little before the cones rim (i filled them too much)
step 4, bake them according to your batter recipe, 22 mins for these chocolate ones (see, too much batter overflowed)
step 5 top with white frosting/icing to appear like whipped cream
step 6, pour chocolate syrup over them
step 7, add spinkles and a cherry!
