has anyone noticed problems on bills (i.e. credit card, cell phones) lately?
I just want to know if it's just us.. i swear, but lately every time I open a bill I notice an error. I swear they do it on purpose to make extra money- like adding on late fees or extra charges when they aren't supposed to be there. My DH's credit card was charged a $39 late fee ($39 dollars are they kidding!!!!) when it was paid on time via Chase's bill pay, the same way I pay it every month. On my sprint bill, they charged me for all the text messages ($70 worth) even though I have an unlimited plan. I have to spend easily 20-30 minutes on each call to resolve the issues. I think these companies put the charges on and see if people will hang up b/c they don't want to spend all that time on the phone. It's really starting to make me Sprint it's the second month in a row- I finally said to them "we've been a customer of yours since 2000... we pay on time every month, we renewed our contract for 2 years this past march and what you are doing is violative of that contract... so either convince me in my pocketbook that we want to remain Sprint customers, of we're out and going to AT&T so I can get the iPhone" they made me a very good offer, but again, it took me like 30 minutes to do this!

I have the Verizon Fios 3 in one package for $99. For 3 months in a row the billed us for each srevice individually which increades our bill by about $30.
Each time I had to call to get it corrected.

I really HATE Sprint! I paid $175 to terminate my contract with them and it was worth every PENNY! they have the absolute worst customer service I have had maybe 1 dropped call with Verizon in 3 or 4 years. with Sprint is was a daily occurrence

This happens to me all the time! I think they do that on purpose. There are people that don't pay attention to their bill info and just pay it, and people that are too lazy (or busy or whatever) to call and complain. Personally, no one gets away with anything with me!!!

Oh my god we just went through this too! We changed over to Verizon for the deal and then for three straight months they billed us a normal bill (without the deal) that was more then optimum. DH called each month and had to deal with it and they said they would fix the problem. And the next month it would be the same thing...finally after saying he would cancel and go back to optimum if this happened the following month....surprise, surprise....it was fixed.

I have to go over our Verizon bill every month. There is always a mistake. I call they fix. But it has got to stop.

Verizon is ALWAYS wrong. I told them I'm switching back to optimum if they keep it up...

yes, they do vary- that is why I never, ever use automatic bill pay b/c CC companies are FAMOUS for changing billing cycles..
So i open every single bill and program the chase online bill pay each month for that specific bill when it is due..
so there is no excuse why all the sudden a CC bill is late when I see it leaving my account in time and hitting their account. It happened with Citibank AND BoA

Re: has anyone noticed problems on bills (i.e. credit card, cell phones) lately?
at work I've had a lot of problems with verizon i have called literally 11 times telling them we canceled there service back in May and to close the account, and every month we get another bill
And DH's cell phone charged him for text messages and had dropped his text plan, and charged us for every single message, they refused to credit us. He also went over his minutes, but later we found out, they decreased his minutes and he didn't actually go over his minutes, again they refused to credit us. (its AT&T and we never asked for either the text plan, or the talking minutes to be decreased)
so far thats it, and hopefully thats all it will be.

OMG US TOO!!! We had the triple play package and for 2 months is a row (july and Aug) they charged us for each service, without the discount! So my bill was about $75 more. Unfortunately, the first month I just paid it thinking we rented a lot of movies or something, then the second month, my DH caught it (he scrutinizes everything....but thank god) and we called and they fixed it, but wont credit us for the month we didnt catch the mistake!@

Re: has anyone noticed problems on bills (i.e. credit card, cell phones) lately?
that is malakry...if they charged you more money the 1st month and you paid it... and they won't credit back, tell them that they are in breach of the contract and that you are going to cancel you can also ask to speak with a customer satisfaction manager, way different than customer service. I'd call back & get mean!

Re: has anyone noticed problems on bills (i.e. credit card, cell phones) lately?
While this has not been happening to me, it has been happening to my parents every month. My dad pays the bills online as well and his credit card company was like well it was paid on Monday, but we didn't post it until Thursday, so it is late. If that is how they determine if you are late or not they can make it so everyone technically pays late.

You're not paying double, you're just paying the missed payment and the current payment.
