Skinny B*tch- Bun in the Oven?
I just started it last night and it is really changing my views of food and eating!
Anyone else?

Re: Has anyone read the book... (pg related)
*Disclaimer* - I'm a longtime vegan.
I'm a big fan of the Skinny B*itch books (they have 2 others). If you don't mind the brash, in your face style of writing I believe that Bun in the Oven is full of good, well researched nutritional information. There's no hiding that fact that it falls heavily on the side of "be vegan or else" which I know many people find offensive and rude. It kinda helps to know that you're about to read a pro-veganism book before you jump in. But I think there's good info in there for everyone, even if your choice isn't to ditch all the animal products and hop on the vegan trail.
I have found though that it's really a love it or hate it thing with this book. There never seems to be an in between. On other boards I post on there have been PAGES of heated debate over this thing.
I'd love to hear your thoughts after you finish the whole book.
Happy reading!

I did !! "wink wink"... I told you reading it would be interesting! I am on day 10 of no meat!! Yay!! I cant quite give up dairy yet, although I have switched to soy milk! I gotta figure out other ways to get more protein.. if anyone has suggestions let me know.. I eat salad everyday with lunch with kidney beans... I will try tofu next week since I will be off of work for a week.. but I need more ideas.... Anyway... I loved the book although I'm not ready to jump into the vegan lifestyle.... But the book has made me more aware and conscious of what I am putting into my body as well as my unborn baby's!

I have to agree. I read the whole book and I like the information, but I just don't see myself ever becoming a vegan.

I definitely won't be becoming vegan. Especially since the foods I eat most are chicken, cheese and ice cream!
It definitely is interesting, though, and like PP said- I will definitely start thinking twice about what I am eating!
