Re: Has anyone seen this RVC house in person?
It might not bother you, but the the entire side of the property line for that house is the parking lot for the stores. I wouldn't want to buy it for that reason. You have no idea how the landlord maintains the property. One of the stores is also a dry cleaner - that is strike two for me.
Go to www.mynassauproperty.com and look it up. It is 12 St. James, but for some reason it is listing the town as Valley stream instead of RVC.

I used to live on Brower Avenue (just north of Lakeview Ave) in RVC, right near where that property is mapped, but I dont recognize it. Is that where the Brower Avenue cleaners is? If so, they do not do dry cleaning on premises there - they send it out to their other facility in Oceanside. I used to go there all the time. It's a drop off location.
In ancy case, its a great area in that part of north RVC. We almost bought a house on Southard.

Yes, the chemicals.
If they aren't properly disposed of, they can contaminate the ground and your drinking water. There was a huge problem with a cleaners in Smithtown a few years ago.
