Has anyone stopped wearing their wedding rings?

My band is a little tight in the AM when I get up. Did anyone stop wearing them.. or start wearing something else a little different but bigger lol?

If it is tight I would stop wearing otherwise you might make the huge mistake I made! I took both rings off for a little bit beciase they were bothering me... put them in my coat pocket forgot about them and as I pulled out my car keys my wedding band must have flung somewhere! Its GONE!!!! Chat Icon ...... so needless to say I'm not wearing my engagement ring and I have to buy a new band before DH finds out!! UGH!!!

Re: Has anyone stopped wearing their wedding rings?

At 35 weeks I can still wear them -
but as soon as they start to get uncomfortable they're coming off -

My cousin insisted on wearing hers b/c 'she wasn't swollen at all' Chat Icon and had to have them CUT OFF ........

Not worth it IMO -

I'm just going to put them in the safe deposit box when the time comes. I'm nervous to wear them on a chain or something like that -

Re: Has anyone stopped wearing their wedding rings?

I had to stop wearing them pretty early on last time around. I was still able to wear my e-ring though. You can always wear your wedding band on a chain around your neck.

I can only wear my wedding band. I can't wear my band and e-ring together - my finger feels squished.

Re: Has anyone stopped wearing their wedding rings?

I've been squeezing mine on for the last week (my e-ring hasn't fit since before PG because I gained weight).

As a birthday present, we ordered a new set (very cheap but pretty) that is getting sized now and I should have next week!

Re: Has anyone stopped wearing their wedding rings?

Recently I've switched from wearing them on the left hand to the right because for some reason, my right hand isn't swollen at all and my left is. I think I'm going to go buy a fake ring just to wear on my left hand while I'm pregnant though - I feel so weird without it!

Re: Has anyone stopped wearing their wedding rings?

I've already given up on my e-ring and I'm only 8 weeks Chat Icon It was small to begin with even pre-pg. I was getting it resized anyway, so I'm not even going to push the issue.

My 2 wedding bands still fit so I'll wear them until I can't.

I had to stop wearing them with DD at about 6 months (i think).

DON'T FORCE the issue. If they aren't fitting or they are getting REALLY snug...DON"t squeeze them on.

You will regret it if you have to have them cut off Chat Icon

Re: Has anyone stopped wearing their wedding rings?

My wedding band/e-ring are 4.5's and they felt like they got tight late in the 2nd tri. I have a saphire and diamond ring that I would wear on my right hand that is a 5 so I just moved that one over. It drove me crazy feeling like my rings were so tight and my wedding band is a pave eternity band and I did not want that to get stuck b/c it would be ruined if it needed to be cut off.

I take mine off at night because that's when I really get swollen.

Re: Has anyone stopped wearing their wedding rings?

Sometimes I wear them, but sometimes I can't. It depends on how swollen I am in the morning.

Re: Has anyone stopped wearing their wedding rings?

if this were the summer - there is no way on earth they would fit....but as it's winter - i guess i'm lucky - they are still working (fingers shrink a touch in the cold).... I also take my rings off at night...i don't want to risk them getting stuck. A few people i know have had to cut them off....and i mean that - MORE THAN ONE...

also - for the time being - it's only my feet that swell..though that's a TON of fun.

Same here! I take them off at night and if they feel too tight in the morning I just leave them off. I don't want them to ever have to be cut off Chat Icon

Re: Has anyone stopped wearing their wedding rings?

Last appointment I was only up 2 lbs, but my rings are sooooo tight! Someone mentioned Shrek feet yesterday, well I have pudgy Shrek fingers! In the morning I look like I have a slight muffin top on my finger when I put my ring on. By the time I get to work my rings are comfortable again. Then we start the cycle all over again the next morning. Chat Icon

Re: Has anyone stopped wearing their wedding rings?

maybe it'd be easier if you didn't wear them to bed? I know that I personally sleep with clenched fists and make my fingers swell. Chat Icon

My rings are still fine - no change at all, actually. I consume very little sodium, plus i'm sure the cold weather is helping. Ask me again in July Chat Icon

The constant puking probably contributes as well Chat Icon

I wore my wedding band today and had to take it off about an hour after I first responded to this post! Chat Icon

Re: Has anyone stopped wearing their wedding rings?

I could only wear my wedding band for a while now. I think at like 20 weeks i had to take the engagement ring off. And every now and again i have to take my wedding band off. My fingers got so swollen that i have a nice red scab from where my wedding ring was. My DH hid my rings so i dont try to put them on anymore. He's like its not worth it. Just leave them off till after the baby.

Re: Has anyone stopped wearing their wedding rings?

I did early on but not because it didn't fit (it still does). I started to get a very itchy raw little patch of exzema rash just under my ring!!! I thought it was from the Christmas tree sap. Let it heal then put my ring back on. Next day... rash! Thought maybe there was still sap under my ring. Cleaned my ring, let it heal, put it back on... rash!!!

I now wear in on my chain with my cross! If I go out, I'll wear it and deal with the rash for the next few days! So bizzare! But a friend sent me an article about exzema being common during pregnancy, especially under rings. Chat Icon
