Has anyones DC had to have an umbilical hernia repaired?

Has anyones DC had to have an umbilical hernia repaired?
DS is 2.5 and the ped said she would send us to a surgeon if it was still there at 3---depending on what the surgeon thought we would watch or operate. Just looking for anyone else experiences, TIA!

My neighbors daughter had one but the surgeon told her they dont do the surgery until they are 5 if they still have it.

DS has this & our ped told us it will correct itself...no one mentioned surgery to us

My sons was gigantic, much larger then others I have seen, so perhaps that is why. He was a preemie and while it has gotten much better it's still pretty big.
