DD#1 did/does.

It pretty much has gone away and she's almost 2 1/2. Ped said if it wasn't healed by 2 they could fix it, but with continuously checking it at visits she saw no need to worry about it or to have it fixed.

They usually heal all on their own. Nothing to worry about Chat Icon

DS had a large one, he is 22 months and it is much better, but still definitely there. I have to see what the ped says at his 2 year visit, but at 18 months she was happy with the progress and even though it was still there it was getting better slowly.

DDs was huge! It went away about a month or two ago. Her belly looks GREAT now! She is going to be 7 months on 12/4.

Re: If your DC has/had an umbilical hernia????

ds had one... a pretty bad one actually.... i think by the time he was 3 months old it was 2 inches in diameter... then it spontaneously went away by the time he was 3 1/2 months old...

i did alot of research on them and they say to avoid surgery at all costs because 95% of them will heal by the time they are 5

i did find that he was more comfotable in one piece outfits then ones with a waistband

Wasn't too bad. You could see it pop out when she pushed out her tummy or would go from lying down to a sitting position, almost like if she'd be doing an ab excersize.

DD's umbilical hernia appeared at about 2 months and by 4 months was completely gone. I guess it was not severe. I was shocked how quickly it was came and went.

Re: If your DC has/had an umbilical hernia????

DD's went away I'd say around 4/5 months. It was pretty big, probably the size of a quarter. It didn't bother her at all, bothered me more.
