Re: have any ladies tried the diva cup?
I tried something LIKE it when I was about 19. I squeezed the sides together, started to insert it but had to readjust it. Well, it popped open and I saw stars!

awful -- not a fan.
As I've said before when it's been mentioned on here, it's like you're digging for gold when you go to "retrieve" it.

it's a menstrual cup. it's made of medical cylicone. it's reusable. so it's to be healthier for the body and cleaner for the environment

Re: have any ladies tried the diva cup?
I personally haven't tried it, but it is a frequent discussion on a huge horse message board that I frequent. It gets rave reviews from a LOT of people -- for convenience (you don't have to change it as often) and comfort. By the way, these are all women who ride horses with the diva cup.
From what I remember reading, it takes some getting used to, but is great once you get the hang of it.
Like I said, I never tried it... but have heard good things.

I agree. Nightmare. I actually almost had a panic attack when I couldn't get it out. I hated it.

Re: have any ladies tried the diva cup?
I tried one....I wasn't a huge fan. I found that it was inconvenient to mess around with in a public bathroom (obviously) and quite messy. I think that if you aren't at work all day (or have a private restroom) then it might be more feasible. HTH!

Apparently, they last for 12 hours, so essentially all day. They advertise you only change it 2 or 3 times max per day -- and those I have heard from agree that's right. That doesn't mean you wouldn't have to empty one in a public rest room, but it cuts down on the chances of that happening.
Again, haven't tried one, but will see if I can dig up the threads on this issue on my other board to link here...

Re: have any ladies tried the diva cup?
I use a moon cup (which is the same kind of thing) and I really like it. It takes some getting used to, but I found myself unable to use tampons and this is a great alternative.
The amount of menstrual blood that accumlates in the cup is actually much less that you might think, if you need to take it out in a public bathroom, you can just wipe it out with toilet paper.
I find it very comfortable!

have any ladies tried the diva cup?
I know this thread is old, but I'm wondering if anyone else has started using one in the 6 years since this thread started. I bought one, but haven't gotten the nerve up to try it. However, I have really heavy periods after DS was born and I'm wondering if this would be a better alternative to changing a tampon every 2 hours.

Re: have any ladies tried the diva cup?
Also they supposedly can hold for up to 12 hours, so if you put it in in the morning it should be fine for the day. My friend uses it and loves it.

12 or more hrs per a co worker, she said it took time to get use to but she loves using it.

I know this thread is old too..but I was looking at the responses and this made me laugh out loud.
I'm picturing like LIF for horses where there's drama over who feeds their horses organic carrots vs conventional carrots, horse manure issues & neighbors, etc. And then someone is like "hay, let's discuss menstrual cups."
