To answer my own questions, yes, I have.

Not LIF. I left a small, private message board community that was a spin-off of a larger message board I am still a part of.

I knew many of the members IRL on the private one.

My reason for leaving was that the pettiness, jealousy, one-up-man-ships, personal attacks, talking behind each other's backs, making fun of the posters on the large board, etc. was just getting to be too much.

I felt like it was also taking up way too much of my time being on there.

I do not regret my decision at all and would not want to go back, even though several years have passed and I still interact with a handful of those people on either FB or the larger board.

I also know a few of them were mad that I left and probably would not welcome me back with open arms anyways.

I actually ended up finding out about LIF right around the time I got fed up with this smaller community.

ive never left one because of something specific happening... i have just sort of stopped posting on a few of them... because other events in my life... i basically stopped posting on the two sports boards i posted on once i got engaged... then i started with LIW....

but im fb friends with 90% of the people that i posted with on those boards so i still talk to them daily... same with the Boxer forum that i posted on too!

This is the only board I have feel I ever posted regularly, so if I left, I don't think anyone noticed..

But to answer your question, yes, I left once and last year during my illness, I took a little break, not b/c of anything here, but b/c I had too much going on.

Not because anyone or anything upset me, no. The internet just doesn't have that kind of importance in my life.

I've left message boards because my interests have changed, though.

I've never left a message board, though I've eventually stopped posting.

The only two that applied to were LIW and the knot. Obviously once wedding planning was over I didn't really have a desire to post on either board and by that time, I had made friends with some of the posters IRL so we kept in touch via email or FB.

Sometimes with this site I'll take breaks, especially if things IRL are hectic and I don't have time to post.

If I ever was to leave a site, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't go back. My feeling is that if something happened to irritate me so much that I had to leave and deactivate my account then I don't want to go back.

It's only an internet forum, there are thousands out there to choose from to post on, I'd find something new.

I left here for a month or two because of being aggravated over one particular post.

Yes, I left 2.

I left LIF at the beginning of the year after some stuff than went down and I was really over LIF at the time. I did come back because of the SN board that I really missed.

I recently left another FB group. It was too much drama and reminded me of LIF. I may come back sometimes.

I do feel the need to LEAVE vs. taking a break.

I am an all or nothing type of person. I need a clean break for myself.

I don't like BIG EXITS. I just leave and tell some of my friends who attend those boards about it.

No. Well, I guess LIW (and no my user id is invalid ). But I have been married for 5 years so I think its just a normal step up.

I think if I were to leave here, i'd just go. Way too much drama here with the please don't go posts.
