Having a baby and dogs is so hard sometimes.

Does anyone feel this way??

I can never leave her alone without me there and the constent barking drives me nuts. Especially when she is sleeping or napping. They also wrestle and play A LOT. And when doing so they growl loudly at each other.

I just hate the barking. I have a yorkie and is a typical terrier and will bark at anything! I want to kill her! DS loves her though! I can leave him unattended with her, I am more scared of him actually hurting her! He is so ruff on her little 6lb body!

I love my 2 dogs but can't leave them alone with DS in his bouncer. They would lick his face non stop. I just KNOW them!!!! They wrestle almost non stop so I have to separate them or they will wake DS from his nap in his PNP.

I have two dogs and one is absolutely crazy and the other is an angel. They are 34 pounds though so i get nervous. The ohter day i was changing hte baby on the living room floor and Missy (my crazy dog) jumped off the couch and on to my DD. I freaked me out. Paige was crying and mommy was too. Thats the only thing im nervous about...the jumping. Missy left a scratch on Paige's belly.

Perhaps you can train them not to jump on her or get them to remain calm when she is around. Sometimes when Lexy is barking I hold her till she calms down and she stops barking and then walks away calmy. I try to mimic Caesar Milan the Dog Whisperer! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Missy is untrainable. We had a trainer for her when she was a puppy and the only person she listened to was her. I have never seen a dog quite like her. I give me and DH a lot of credit for putting up with her for almost 3 years. There were many times that i said lets get rid of her but noone would put up with her and i would never want anything to happen to her. I still love her to death.

It is! I have a jack russell who barks a lot...actually think I might get a bark collar, the citronella one, from what I have read it seems to be very safe for them. And doesn't hurt! My luck he'll like the smell and bark more!!

How about getting them not to jump on the furniture? Perhaps every time they are on it remove them have them sit, pat them, tell them to stay then give them a treat......I guess then repeat till they get it..Chat Icon

Ive thought about a bark collar also but didnt want to hurt her. Maybe the citronella is a good one. I was always told to spray the dog in the face with water. I have yet to do it. I always feel so bad.

I tried that when one of mine would whine while his "brother" is going outside for business. He ended up SOAKED but never stopped barking.Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I would never zap them either. They don't bark too much though. Only when they hear "suspicious" noise outside, DH comes home. They do wrestle A LOT but I have to see they crack me up. Sometimes they know I will say something so they wrestle "in silence". They open their mouth and everything but don't make a sound so I would not say anything. They are WAY TOO smart.
