Having another LO after a special needs child
I have not experienced this personally. My friend has B/B twins I think 5y & one on spectrum. She had another boy now around 3yr & he is also on spectrum. She strongly believes it's genetic.

I only have one but most of my friends have multiple. One has an autistic older child, younger child is typical. Another has an autistic son and younger sibling is typical. Another has twins, one on the spectrum, one typical and a younger typical sibling.

Having another LO after a special needs child
You know my husband is ASD. His blood sibling is not. There is a few years gap between them.
My FIL is ASD and his brother is not. I swear it only hits the first borns in our family.

Re: Having another LO after a special needs child
I have a 5 year old with cp and a 1 year old typically developing. Best decision ever for me to have another child. It gave me a new perspective on how hard my oldest had to work to get where he is and it also gave me an opportunity to enjoy the baby time that I felt I missed out on with my oldest. The baby always us to just enjoy the little things in life.
