Having my baby shower on Nov 28th!!
it's gonna be a little early cause I live in Chicago, and the weather here is BAD in the winter, and I'm haing it in NY, so my mom doesn't want to take the chance having it in Dec or Jan,,,but I can't WAIT to register!!! by the time the shower is here I'll be about 18-19 weeks

i'm just wondering if you will know the gender by that time... and it seems super early for a shower!
I am OOS too... but having the shower at 28 weeks (flying into NY from CA)

Yey for registering! but I have to agree about the shower being early  Sorry!  My shower isn't until Oct. 10, I'll be 36...can she wait until around that time...?

ITA, seems really early to me. Mine is this weekend at 27 weeks and even that I feel is early, but my mom and BF are OOS (and I'm having twins) so that's why we are doing it at 27 weeks.
If you have it in March you will still only be like 30 weeks, right?  I thought that was about when most people had showers?

I am not trying to be mean, but don't you think that is a bit early? I am due a month before, OOS (Florida) and my shower is most likely either the second week of December or 1st weekend in January. If you didn't book it, I would consider making it later. Typically, LI winters are not that bad and you are banking on something that isn't going to happen.

I'm in IL and I dont think I should travel at 8 months, that's what I would be at that time, I am only having it this early cause of the bad weather we have here from Dec to pretty much March...this is why and I have to stay positive! By the time the shower comes I will be 19 weeks, so it's not too ealry.

Do you feel safe registering that early? I mean you would have to send invites out and be registered just after the 1st trimester is over. I guess I'm just superstitous and have unfortunatly had late losses that I would be too nervous to do it that early.
If it is in NY, why cant you travel here in the winter? The worse that happens is a delayed flight no?
Either way, have fun, its exciting to register and plan no doubt!

I think you should do what you feel comfortable with. Everyone's different.
Whether or not it's "too early" really is up to you.

And c'mon now ladies, most of us started registering early, I did at about 15 weeks b/c it was right before Christmas and my family wanted to buy stuff!

i hear ya! i wouldn't want to travel when i'm 8 months pregnant!!! I would love to register early but i do have to admit that i do look on the website to see what i would register for!!! Can't wait ot see pics of your shower!!!! enjoy registering!!!!
