Having my OOT Mom stay with me (need advice especially from those who are Almost Due or pregnant #2)
My mom mentioned today that she want to book her flight/rent car by next month.
I don't want her to be here too far before the birth, so she has more time to enjoy the baby), but I don't want her to miss the day either.
At what point would the assistance be helpful?
How many weeks do things start to become difficult to do?

Re: Having my OOT Mom stay with me (need advice especially from those who are 36+w or pregnant #2)
I had my Mom with me from the time I was in the hospital and for a week after. It was EXTREMELY helpful and I am so thankful she was there for me. Is she flexible enough to fly at a moments notice? I know it is hard to determine when, that's so hard. IMO, she was very valueable in the hospital, but more valuable at home the week after. HTH

what about before you gave birth? Where you able to do things with ease? So far I am ok, but I am only 30weeks

Yes, I had really no problems doing things on my own. I worked right up until the day I went into the hospital. I had a big belly, but I did just fine

My parents arrived on my due date and I was 11 days late, by the time the baby was born, we were ready to kill each other. It almost broke us up.

Re: Having my OOT Mom stay with me (need advice especially from those who are Almost Due or pregnant #2)
I didn't need any help beforehand. I was 10 days late, and worked up until I was in labor.
Its hard to predict how you'll feel after. My parents and ILs are local, so they would pop in for visits but I didn't really "need" them since Al was home with me. With #2, I think I'll be enlisting more help (to take Ella off our hands, while we deal with the baby).

Re: Having my OOT Mom stay with me (need advice especially from those who are Almost Due or pregnant #2)
my mom is an 8 hour drive away & she plans on driving---I think what we will do is plan to have her come 2 or 3 days before my due date (unless we are told for whatever reason we might have the baby sooner)---like you I want her to be here for the birth, but also want her to be here as long as possible after. I know its a bit different for your mom as she is flying, but I guess worst case she could always change her flight and pay the fee. I know when my SIL had her baby, she had her mom come the week before her due date. I don't really plan on needing much help before the baby---Im home, so I will be precooking/freezing some meals in the next few weeks to get ready

Re: Having my OOT Mom stay with me (need advice especially from those who are Almost Due or pregnant #2)
I am due on Monday and i really dont have any trouble doing anything! My mom is all over me to stop driving but considering i could go up to 10 days past my due date before they will induce me, i refuse to sit around my house for the next two weeks!
That being said, you could go into labor up to three weeks early! these things are so hard to predict.
