Having trouble sleeping lately
for the past week or so I either can't fall asleep, I just lay in bed for hours or I wake up really early and can't fall back to sleep.
I resorted to taking NyQuil last night, out of sheer desperation (and exhaustion). I finally had a decent night's sleep, but I don't want to keep taking that.
I have a lot on my mind, so obviously that is why. does anyone have any tips for me, that are not "drug" related?
Thanks!

Exercise! Go for a walk or run around dusk.
Hot bath
Warm milk (I know, gross. But it really helps me sleep.)

Re: Having trouble sleeping lately
-Exercise -Write a "to-do" list before you go to sleep -No work or TV in the bedroom - your bedroom should be associated only with sleeping, and ahem, other "bedly" activities -if hubby is able and willing, a massage or back rub before sleep might do the trick -a warm bath before bedtime -if you can't sleep, don't toss and turn - get up and go to another room, do something else for 15 minutes and come back and try to go to sleep -it's silly, but use relaxation techniques - in your head go through each body part and relax each one as you go through it slowly. You may just fall asleep by the time you get to your toes

I took Tylenol Simply sleep Friday night, and I was useless all day on Saturday. It was horrible and I threw the whole bottle out I'll never take them again. Sure, I slept but the whole next day I could not do anything at all because it wrecked me.
The Nyquil doesnt bother me, so I'm back on that. Some peopel have told me to take Tylenol PM, it has less sleepy meds in it than simply sleep.

Re: Having trouble sleeping lately
Try getting up and reading (a book is best, if I read a newspaper or magazine, it doesn't work as well for some reason). I think something about doing this activity helps break my pattern of worrying (that's usually what keeps me up too).
Sometimes a small amount of food helps make me sleepier too, if I'm hungry.
