Heading to NYC this weekend....need opinions please
My DH and I are headed to NYC this weekend for our 1 year anniversary.
We really wanted to do a Broadway show since neither on of us have ever seen a show on Broadway before. I would love some opinions on what show we 'must" see........any suggestions??

I would say Wicked  Chicago is great too
I also love Rent, Les Mis and Miss Saigon- but, none of them are running at the moment.
ETA: I've also heard great things about Young Frankenstein but haven't seen it yet.
I also have never seen a drama, only musicals so I can;t comment there.

I heard Wicked was great but I haven't seen it yet...How about Mamma Mia?? I saw it 4x!! It was amazing!

I've heard Wicked is awesome, but I haven't had the chance to see it yet. Mama Mia is such a fun show, and probably my favorite. Phantom is of course a classic. I thought Avenue Q was really funny, but I think you have to have a certain sense of humor to enjoy it. Grease was cute, but not fantastic.

Wicked was amazing. Ive heard Lion King is also great. DH and I are seeing Avenue Q in a few weeks, we heard it was very good.

If you want to see a classic you can't go wrong with Phantom or Chicago.
Avenue Q is so funny. Mamma Mia! is also really good - fun.
Depends on what you're in the mood for.
Also, I have only heard rave reviews about Jersey Boys but haven't seen it myself. Don't know if you can get short notice tix for that though.

I'd see Wicked if you want incredible fantasy, Avenue Q if you want to laugh and Spring Awakening if you want something young and outrageous. All great shows!!

Isn't Wicked still a sold out show? You could try the ticket lottery if you really want to see that show. They lottery 2 tickets for front row seats for $25 each and I think it's 2.5 hours before the show. The details are on their site or maybe on broadwaybox.com

I think its really really hard to get tickets to wicked, and jersey boys, my dad ordered tickets awhile back to jersey boys and just got to see a few weeks ago.
Momma mia was great!
And I have heard great reviews for legally blonde
