Health Care Insurance Vent
Sorry I have to vent abt My Health Care
Insurance. I didn't realize that with Hmo's They Only cover the State Mandatory Visits for well care ,which is only 7. So today i get a explanation of benefits telling me i owe $150 for my Ds Peds visit. Arghhhhhh

Really? You should check and see if they cover all vacciantions or just the state mandated ones. It would s uck to have to pay for those!

Its not just HMO', its any policy, any insurance...
When you sign up for the insurance, they send you a book that tells you this...And then like all of us, no one reads it... and the ped's offices will NOT keep track or tell you, they dont care.. ( worked for health insurance for 7 years and no ped's office monitored this..they felt the parents should)
The thing is..there is NO reason your HEALTHY child should have more then 7 well visits in a yr. anyway( the mandate is set up by pediatricians) Since your allowe dunlimited sick visits and you dont get 7 immunizations iun the first yr........So either the peds office is billing a well visit with every immunization which they shouldnt do, because its not neccesary and not the case, or they are examining them truly at every visit..again wrong.
Iw ish I could warn all new parents to how this works after seeing it so many times.
If you call the Dr's office , ask to see where the 7 visits were and make sure they were all truly well visits.
