Re: Heart rate and baby's sex???
yes that is correct because I just looked it up online the other day after my mother mentioned it! Unfortunately they say there is no relationship between the two, but I'd like to think there is!! DC heartrate was 170!

Re: Heart rate and baby's sex???
I heard 140 was the line - I found it to be wrong for me. Both DS1 and DS2 were always above 150.

Re: Heart rate and baby's sex???
Do you know how far along you have to be for this wives tale? Is it from the first heart beat at like 8w, or later on?
Just curious

I heard that it's just slightly accurate in the 3rd tri, not accurate at all before that.
At 6w my baby's hr was 128. At 9w, it was up to 170-something. Now at 20w, it's settled in the 140's/150's. All the same baby! From what I've read, that's typical - it's slow in the very beginning when it's tiny, then really fast at the end of the first tri, and then anywhere between 120 and 170 after that, depending on if it's awake or asleep, how much sugar Mom's had, how nervous/anxious Mom is, etc.

Re: Heart rate and baby's sex???
Here's what convinced me that the Old Wives' Tale isn't true: a chart that shows the distribution of heart rates for boy fetuses and girl fetuses. Boys are blue dots and girls are pink dots. You can see that the pink dots are no higher up on the chart than the blue dots:

I'm having a girl and her heartrate is usually between 130-140. In the beginning it was a little higher but ranged from 140-160. This is an old wives tale that is completely bogus (like most are).

Babys heart rate was 154
My doctor just smiled at me and kind of laughed when I said IT'S A GIRL
Everyone I talk to says something else, so I guess it isn't true
