Heartbeat... BPMs = what gender?
I think I read once that the amount of BPMs can somewhat determine what you're having. Does anyone know if this is true, or what the BPMs is for either sex?

True for us as well. They were over 170, and we are having 2 girls.

Re: Heartbeat... BPMs = what gender?
Definately not true for me. In March the HB was between 150 - 160. On Thursday the HB was 158 BPM and baby is The doctor even told me that it's an old wives tale about the high HB meaning girl.

Re: Heartbeat... BPMs = what gender?
Total wives tale
My baby's heart rate has been high every sono..154...156..158 and I am having a boy
The doc said its not true because I could have eaten some ice cream before and his hb would be high, and if he is sleeping, it would be low

Same with my son's so it was true for us - even though it's an old wives tale.

Re: Heartbeat... BPMs = what gender?
I keep hearing that it's a wive's tale, too.. but most swear by that the girl has a higher BPM. In the end, it's always a 50/50 chance someone's right.
Thanks for the info, ladies!

Re: Heartbeat... BPMs = what gender?
With my DD it was true. Her HB was always between 160-168. ( I had a doppler & used it often!) With this pregnancy I swore it was another girl because if the HB being high (between 155-165 BPM) but it's a . So totally old wives tale this time around!
