heartbeat/gender question

My family swears that if the baby's heartbeat is higher than 150 bpm, then it is a girl. Did anyone notice this to be true?

It was true for me, but I have a friend that's pregnant now and her Chat Icon has a fast HB too.

We track Monkey's HB every day, in the beginning it was slower than normal, (Scared the crap out of me) then she hung out in the 160s for a few weeks, then 150s, now the 140s. Dr says the further along you get it tends to slow a bit, her HB has been in the 130s and the nurse says monkey is sleeping. I think it has more to do with how far along you are rather than gender.

Re: heartbeat/gender question

My mom told me that her OB told her that years ago. She said that's how she knew I was a girl...because the OB confirmed with the heartrate. I shudder to think of how future generations will look at us as clueless...

Re: heartbeat/gender question

Our little boy's heartbeat was over 160 until we hit 20 weeks. Then it went down to 137 & it has stayed there since then. That is one of the reasons I was convinced it was a little girl..
