HeartBurn-- any other ladies experiencing this?

I never had heartburn before and I dont like it!!! I read that it is very common in the 2nd and 3rd trimester...somthing about the baby pushing up your gastrointestinal organs..

are there anyways to get relief?

Old wives tales say the baby will have lots of hair. Which was true for me, I didn't have it with my first pregnancy and my son was bald and I had it terrible with my second pregnancy and she was born with a full head of hairChat Icon I don't normally believe these things, lol. I lived on Tums!

I didn't think it would work, but I have found that Peppermint gum really helps alleviate the problem! I now have packs of gum stashed everywhere!Chat Icon

I had it REALLY bad with my first pregnancy, and the dr. gave me a prescription, which did not work. They gave me a stronger one, but I was due within 2 weeks of that, so I decided to just suck it up. I dont have it as bad this time around. I would tell the dr. if it gets bad and get something!

Re: HeartBurn-- any other ladies experiencing this?

I LOVE Tums, i never had one before the pregnancy, but i get bouts of heartburn. To top it off, when we had the growth scan on tuesday, the tech said the baby had lots of hair on the back of her head, so now i am convinced that it why the bad heartburn!

I had horrific heartburn and my son had a full head of dark thick hair, so in my case the old wives tale was true!! I too lived on the tums, and then along came the kidney stones...Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

i had bad heartburn for most of my pregnancy but it got really bad during the end and during delivery. tums didn't work for me. aviod juices and really cold drinks. i took malox at the very end but unfortunately i just had to deal with the pain. i feel for you. right after i delivered it went away for good.
