Help - Need Small Birthday Party Ideas for 8 year old?
DD will be 8 soon and I wanted to do a small party for a few friends. DD is a "girly" girl so I was thinking of having about 4-5 friends go for manis/pedis then lunch or dinner. What do you think about this idea?
Can anyone suggest another "girly" theme for a small group of girls?
We are in Plainview so nothing too far.
TIA!

Such a cute idea!!!
I was going to suggest a sleepover party...
Movies and lunch..
Isn't there a spa in Woodbury, forgot the name that does spa parties??? It is smallish one... Down Woodbury road past Woodbury commons?
I figured it out- pout day spa.

We went to our local nail salon with my DD and a couple of friends and then lunch. She was only turning 5 and this is what she chose. It was cute though and definitely not as expensive as a party.

Re: Help - Need Small Birthday Party Ideas for 8 year old?
I had a birthday party for DD at Michaels craft store with only girls when she was in 1st grade. When you book you pick a craft for them to do. You bring in the pizza (we had it delivered) the paper goods and cake. (we did cupcakes, and had the girls decorate them, I frosted them at home.)
She liked it so much we did it again when she was in 3rd grade with boys and girls and had 3 different crafts form them to choose from.

I like that idea a lot.....
You could also do a karaoke party if you know someone with a karaoke machine...
America's Next Top Model party / Fashion Show......
Cooking party
Swimming party at a local hotel...and rent a hotel room for them

Sleepover party.
You can do a scavenger hunt. They break into teams with an adult & track down objects.
This past birthday (8 yo), we did Adventureland with 3 friends & her brother. Then after we went to Target where they could pick out something for $20. The least I've spent on a birthday party ever!

Re: Help - Need Small Birthday Party Ideas for 8 year old?
This year I told DD she can invite her 2 cousins and 3 other friends...so 6 girls all together. We will do manis/pedis at the house. I have all the supplies and will get extra things to have it all be sanitary. I already have the detail brushes and I paint flowers/butterflies/etc on DD's nails when I paint them so they can each pick something like that.
I will get some glitter tattoos also and a little clip in hair extention for each of them. For a craft I will get $1 flip flops and little self-stick rhinestones from the craft store and they can each decorate a pair of flip flops to wear for the pedicure.
We will do "facials" where I spritz their face with plain water and they pat it in as "wrinkle" cream, then I give them some basic moisturizer to rub in and we will apply glitter lipgloss and some glittery face powder.
My younger sister is willing to help so we will be able to manage 6 girls I think just fine.
I will have cupcakes for them to decorate already frosted and they will add sprinkles and candies. We will order pizza. And then her cousins and maybe a friend or two if the parents don't mind can sleep over! We can rent a movie and watch it on our big screen TV before they fall esleep in the living room.
We've done BIG parties for the past 3-4 years and DD knows that those days need to be over. I have a big back yard and we can make the best of the situation at home nad just have something fun with her girlfriends!
