Help Feeding my 21 month Twins
My Twins are almost 2 & driving me INSANE with eating. They are NOT the best eaters & seem to only eat basics when they do eat Chicken nuggets, cheese, yogurt, waffles, oatmeal, PB & Jelly, pasta with butter. It's really a VERY LIMITED menu.
Problem- they are at times crying to eat but then when food is offered they refuse & cry. Is this normal 2yr old behavior? Do I just take the road of "when they are hungry they will eat?" I feel like I try & offer 5 things & they still wont eat. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Help Feeding my 21 month Twins
You just described my 2.5yo DS menu. Although, he does eat lots of fruit, too and some veggies but they have to be raw veggies (cucumbers, carrots, etc.). I think it's just a phase... at least I hope so!!! I just keep offering different foods anyway. If he is hungry enough, he will try/eat new things but that's not very often!

Re: Help Feeding my 21 month Twins
I would just keep on offering all different foods on their plates even if they dont eat them. Eventually if it is there, they may take a taste and like it. I make a lot of muffins/snacks and try and incorporate different veggies (zucchini muffins, carrot muffins, zucchini/banana cookies) whenever I can. I make my three green smoothies everyday as a snack. They love them and I know that is atleast 2-3 serving sizes of fruits and veggies. Kale chips are a recent favorite in our house hold. The three of them can down a whole bag of kale (so easy to make...just toss with EVOO and sea salt and bake in the oven at 325 for 15-20 minutes). Do your boys like fruit? If they like chicken nuggets you can make your own and mix the breading with finely chopped spinach. For breakfast if your boys like waffles or pancakes you can puree some fresh fruit and have them use it as dip. Would they eat eggs? Spagetti squash is an awesome substitue for pasta and is sooo good. I also try and think outside the box with my kids. Bc it really surprises me what some of their favorite foods are. The first time I ever ate quinoa was last year...it is probably my 2sons favorite food...who would ever think. GOOD LUCK!!! As you know with Adrianna's weight issues feeding is ALWAYS a major concern in our household!

You have the most wonderful Ideas now I just have to try & do them. I love the waffle/dip idea. Dean wont eat fruit. Peter gained 3lbs since last appt & now in 25%. How do I make Sp squash? Yes, they do like eggs. It just seems when I try something new (Certainly not as good as your menu)they wont even try it.

Re: Help Feeding my 21 month Twins
Spaghetti squash is so easy and I personally find it very delicious. You cut it in half (length wise), take out all the "guts" -pits and yucky strings...kind of like a pumpkin. Then put a little EVOO on a cookie sheet with some salt and put the squash face down (cut side down) on the cookie sheet. Back in the oven at 375 for 30 minutes. Take out of the oven, let cool briefly. Once you can handle the squash you just scrap out the insides with a spoon. It comes out stringy like spaghetti. Then you can serve it however you would however you like. We personally like it with a little tomato sauce and cheese.

Help Feeding my 21 month Twins
The green smoothies seem to be a hit with my 2 year old twins (and my husband who doesn't like vegetables). I pick one green, two fruits (usually banana and a berry) along with vanilla yogurt and/or orange juice. A big hit!!!
