Help: How do I get my toddler to stay in his new toddler bed

DS is only 22 months, and he climbed out of his crib, so we converted it to a toddler bed. How do I get him to take a nap in his bed instead of getting out of it to play with his toys? He has always been such a good sleeper, and today, he is driving me crazy!

Re: Help: How do I get my toddler to stay in his new toddler bed

This was a huge fear of mine and why I waited as long as possible. I just got stern with my son and told him that it was naptime. It wasn't an option, and when he woke up we would go to the park (or something like that)

He still falls asleep on the floor right by the door most days. Doesn't matter to me though as long as he is napping.

Be consistent, that is the most important thing you can do.

I tried to be stern, he doesn't understand what I'm trying to say, and he can't talk yet, so it makes it difficult to reason. He keeps getting out and playing with his toys. Do I have to put the toys away at naptime?

I would try that and see if it helps.
